City Parks

Our community has several beautiful parks for all ages to enjoy: Angle Lake, Riverton Heights Park, McMicken Heights Park, Valley Ridge Park, SeaTac Des Moines Creek Park, North SeaTac Park as well as the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden.

Below are updates on improvements being made at some of these outdoor spaces.

Angle Lake Park Fishing Pier & Boat Ramp

The Angle Lake Park fishing pier and boat ramp replacement project is nearing the end of the design phase (90% design development) with construction permits submitted to local and state agencies for review & approval.

The project replaces the 50+ year old floating dock and boat ramp. The new fishing pier design will be elevated from the water and provide anglers access to deeper water for fishing and greater separation between the fishing area and recreational swimming area. The elevated structure is designed as a viewing area with fishing access in the designated area.

The designated swimming area will provide visitors access to shallow and deep water with defined buoy areas. Access to the swimming area will be enhanced by the addition of an ADA ramp into the water at the north end of the swimming area and new stairs and handrails for visitors to access the beach area.

The existing boat ramp will be renovated by removing the concrete ramp that has failed, performing grading work and replacing the ramp with a new series of precast concrete panels along with a new boarding ramp to access boats tied at the new floating dock. The dock will also feature a kayak launch to facilitate easier launching and retrieval.
